Ward Breakfast

This is Mary and Michelle. Mary is my Enrichment Leader on my Enrichment Committee and does a Fabulous job! Michelle is the Secretary in our Relief Society Presidency and she's AWESOME!!

This is a picture of the pavillion with some of the food.

Bridgette & Salina (below) are enjoying some great conversation. Bridgette has a little boy, two twin girls, and this new little one she's holding is their newest addition, another sweet little boy. Salina is also on my Enrichment Committee and she is amazing! You can always count on her when you need her! After breakfast, the kids (and some of the adults) had a hula hoop contest with prizes. The kids were all pretty excited that they got to keep the hula hoops when they were done with them, too!

These are some more shots of everyone enjoying a great breakfast and good company!!

I took these picture of everyone gathered as I was walking up to breakfast when I got there.

For those of you who don't live anywhere near us and know what our area is like............let me describe it for you.

We live out in West Jordan, UT....................out in a brand new development that has been building up as fast as they possibly can for about the past 5 years or so. When we moved out here and bought our home, we were one of the 1st families out here and there was nothing around yet!! Like I said, they've been building as fast as possible so we just keep continuing to grow and grow rather quickly. Matt and I chose this area because it was a newer area with a LOT of potential for growth and development, and we liked that there were so many younger families moving in. A really great example of the kind of growth we've had is that we've been in our home for about 4 1/2 years now. In that time, we've been in about 4 or 5 different Wards and about 3 or 4 different Stakes...........................all without moving once!! Currently we are waiting for our church building to finish being built so that our little neighborhoods will finally have a 'home'! We are very excited!!

Anyway, in our little corner of the world there are 4 neighborhoods all clumped right together and we've all been together in the same ward at one time...................and have been split a couple of times. Our neighborhood is the Seasons at the Maples. Behind us is the Hamlet Homes, then behind them is Phase 1 & Phase 2 of the Maples. Basically, that just means that those homes were built in phases. Phase 1 was obviously built first..................and then they went across the street and built Phase 2. Currently, the Hamlet Homes and Phase 2 of the Maples are in the same ward.....................and Phase 1 of the Maples and our neighborhood, the Seasons at the Maples are in the same ward.

Matt and I LOVE our ward!! We have the greatest people in our ward...............and we really love that the majority of the Ward is made of younger families, like us, who are all starting out and kind of in the same or similar places in our lives. Our Ward also tries really hard to do fun things outside of church to help us grow and get to know each other, and to be build some good friendships.

Yesterday, we had a Ward breakfast out in the park in Phase 2 of the Maples. We had lots of yummy foods, and it was very enjoyable!! The weather was GORGEOUS (finally!), and it was fun to sit outside enjoying the weather and enjoying each other's company and conversation.

Life is good.......................
