July 4th, 2008

This was our 'spot' in the park. The girl standing up by the colorful umbrella is Trisha. The girl standing with her back to the camera is Mailyn. The guy sitting on the ground is Phil, Mailyn's husband. Phil & Mailyn came up for the weekend from Arizona to visit.

Here's a cute picture of Matt playing with little baby Jackson. The picture below is a picture of the blow-up, bouncy, fun stuff they have for kids to do all afternoon in the park.

OK.....There were these people that came to the park and sat fairly close to us who brought 7..........yes, I said 7.........snakes with them!! They drew quite a crowd for much of the afternoon, too. Everyone wanted to see them and hold them. I, on the other hand, HATE snakes so I wouldn't touch them! Matt tried to get me to hold one but I wasn't having it!! YIKES!! He's a little nutty, though, and you can see that he just kind of let the thing slither all over him. He said it actually felt pretty good on his head. The snake was squeezing his head a little and it felt like he was massaging it. NO THANK YOU!!

These are some more random shots of the park before it got too busy.
And, here is crazy Matt and Ryan together with the snakes! Crazy boys!

So I realize this post is a little late...........but things have been so crazy busy that I just haven't had any time before now to do it! Anyway................

Matt and I had a nice 4th of July. We were both off work all day, so it was nice to be able to spend it together. We had a nice, relaxing morning and actually got to sleep in a little bit. Later in the afternoon, we went to Sugar House Park to meet up with some of our closest friends to hang out and watch the fireworks that night. That's been our annual 4th of July celebration for the past 5 or 6 years. We usually go to the park later in the afternoon and the 'boys' all go play whiffle ball or toss a football around a bit while the 'girls' all sit and chat and chase after children! We usually all bring coolers with drinks and snacks, and we either pack a dinner or go buy from somewhere really close by. This year, Matt and I packed a little picnic. That night, we watched the fireworks which were 33 mintues long and AWESOME!! It's fun to just get together with our close friends and enjoy each other's company outside for a few hours.............
