Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (3)

Right on the outskirts of the same little town that the boarding school was located, lives a woman by the name of Lorena. She is an artist specializing in ceramic pots and water color paintings, and her work is apparently in high demand. Our tour guide, Paul, is great friends with Lorena so he took us over to meet her and see her home. She lives very, very simply off the land, as shown in the following pictures:

This is where Lorena lives.
This is a picture of Matt as we were walking up to Lorena's 'house'. It was still drizzling a little at this point.

Matt and I. (As you can see, we're a little wet from the rain.)

This is Matt and I standing inside Lorena's 'house'.

The inside.

Lorena is in this picture, standing behind her 'stove/work table' area. At the time, she was busy cooking and preparing food for the big feast that was taking place in a few hours at the big celebration in town.

This is what her roof looked like. I thought it was beautiful, but can't imagine not actually having a good, solid roof over my head!

More pictures of Lorena's home.

These are her gardens where she grows just about everything that she eats!

This is her dog. He was very sweet and friendly! Also, behind the dog is Lorena's 'living room' area. This is where she spends a lot of her time making her pots and artwork. :)
More pictures of Lorena's gardens.

This is Matt with our tour guide, Paul. He really was the NICEST guy....and so knowledgeable about the island! He truly loves where he lives! :)

This was another shot of the little town as they were getting things set up and preparing for the big celebration later that day. (Seriously, it was a TINY TOWN!!)

Still more to come.....
